The uniform & symmetrical profile of the diode laser beam generates an outstandingly consistent weld bead profile independent from the welding direction.

The diode laser energy couples very effectively into the metal surface of the tool or component (high energy absorption). This makes a 5,000 W diode system at full power as or more effective than a 15,000 W CO2 laser.

The higher energy absorption allows operating at lower laser powers which reduces the thermal load on the workpiece. This way distortion and dilution of the softer base material with the hard-facing material are further reduced.
