The following technologies are examples for innovative manufacturing solutions unique to Laser Welding Solutions:

HYPROTECT

LWS developed a new laser hardfacing process called HYPROTECT. This process combines the unique and superior qualities of:

• High power fiber coupled Nd:YAG and diode lasers
• FLEXCELL robotic motion system with two fully integrated rotary units
• Coaxial powder nozzle, designed for 3D laser cladding
• Super M-1 globular Tungsten carbide hardfacing powder
• Hybrid laser processing for highest efficiency

FLEXCELL

The FLEXCELL concept is designed to combine high welding speeds with the ultimate amount of motion flexibility and a large work envelope.

• LWS integrated a modern robot (as used for the precision welding of luxury cars and trucks) with two heavy rotary units.
• In this set-up the system can accommodate tubular parts of up to 18 ft. in length and 18” diameter.
• Due to its modular design the system can be upgraded to support components up to 30 ft. in length.
• The rotary tables have a max. payload capacity of up to 5 tons and are able to turn with 15 rpm.

Weld Head COAX VIII

The weld head COAX VIII was developed in collaboration with Toyota Motor Co., Japan and the Fraunhofer Research Center, Germany. It is especially designed and used for robotic cladding applications.

LWS adapted this latest version of the Coax - Series weld head specifically for the cladding of oil drilling equipment.

The head distinguishes itself from other products by its homogeneous and consistent powder flow and low maintenance requirements.
